THE YURT at The Yellow House
The Yurt is nestled high on Observation among stone pines and pepper trees with stunning views of the canyon, nearby forests and hiking trails. At night, one can hear all the sounds of the canyon, like a symphony.
Our artist residents stay in a circular 30' Yurt. The Yurt has a sizable living space with a full sized bed, walk-in closet, full bathroom shower/tub, kitchenette, and wifi. To sleep and exist in a circular area affects mood and imagination.
Residency
The Yellow House Residency allows artists to reflect and develop in a forested mountain retreat near metropolitan Los Angeles.
Residencies are by invitation and directed by the interests and pursuits of each artist. Artists stay in a private Yurt on a historic Topanga Canyon property. This is ideal for local LA artists as a break from urban and traditional studio space. At the conclusion of residencies, the Yellow House hosts a small group to share an aspect of the artist’s work/project.
Residency accommodations are provided at no cost to the artist. Residents are responsible only for their travel and meals. The Yurt has a small kitchen, full bath, and other amenities.
The genesis of this residency came after hearing from guests about their rich experiences while staying in the Yurt and exploring the spectacular surroundings.
